Join Sheri Gaynor, LCSW, Registered Art Therapist for ART as ACTIVISM. We begin the evening with a short documentary showing the history of art as activism. We will then use collage and mixed media to create postcards that can be used to voice and share your feelings and opinions with whomever you
On the 4th Tuesday of each month, our local LGBTQIA+ community and allies come together to socialize, make art, network, and have fun with or without an adult beverage. The class will feature a variety of projects in a variety of media. All levels are welcome. You will feel comfortable exploring creativity if you have no experience making art and have fun if you are an accomplished working artist, all in a safe environment, which is why Creations and Libations was conceived.
This program provides a welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ community members in the Roaring Fork Valley. We understand that, historically, these safe spaces may have been difficult to come by, and we’ve partnered with AspenOUT to ensure everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community feels welcome and included here.
To that end, we prioritize this offering for those who identify as LGBTQIA+.
We also welcome allies who are actively involved in LGBTQ+ organizations and volunteer activities that support this community. If you do not identify as a member of this community and are interested in this class, please email programs@theartbase.org to request a waitlist spot or to express interest in taking the class in the future for general adult education. Thank you!
